Hi sweet friends, Happy New Year! The past year was filled with documenting once-in-a-lifetime moments and beautiful, kind people. I am so thankful for all of my clients that invited me and my camera into their homes, weddings, and special occasions. In 2018, my photography business transitioned from mainly weddings to focus more on families. I photographed two beautiful weddings, 27 (my favorite number!) families, 5 precious newborns, a handful of maternity sessions, a church/pre-school, and a growing startup company. This blog post is one of my favorites every year. It’s a look at the behind the scenes of Michelle Stoker Photography. It’s been a good year!

Lauren and Jarrod – Tampa Maternity Photography

I first met Lauren and Jarrod in October of 2015 for their engagement session in downtown Sanford. That session was so much fun! It was such a treat to see them again in downtown Tampa at Water Works Park for their maternity session. Lauren is stunning!!! I’m so excited for these two to welcome their first baby in December. Can’t wait to snuggle him or her (it’s a surprise!) during their newborn session soon.

Knack – Tutoring Simplified 2018

I had the opportunity to take updated team photos and headshots for Knack recently. I, of course, said YES since my handsome husband is the CTO and one of the founders of this awesome tutoring app! Knack is a growing community for college students to connect with their peers for tutoring. They got started in 2016 and have been growing ever since. They recently added on a few new employees and closed out a seed round of funding with some awesome investors, including Jeff Vinik, the owner of the Tampa Bay Lighting! So proud of these guys and am excited to see how Knack grows!

Twiss Family – Tampa Westchase Photography

Meet the Twiss family! Jenna (that beautiful mama) and I taught on the same Kindergarten team a few years ago. This woman is a saint! She is so patient, kind, and loving. Her students were truly lucky to have her. We got together earlier this year for updated family photos. It was such a great session! Happy kiddos and proud parents made my job easy!

Fall 2018 Mini Sessions

Family, Orlando, Tampa

It’s that time of year – family mini sessions! I had the privilege of photographing over 30 families last year. It made my heart so happy! It’s so important to take the time and effort to photograph your family each year. Everyone grows and changes so quickly, especially the little ones! I will be offering sessions in both Orlando and Tampa this year but dates and session times are limited. 

Fall 2018 Family Mini Sessions – $125
– 20 minutes (perfect length for the kiddos)
– At least 20 high-resolution, edited images delivered in an online gallery
– Gallery delivered within one week of session

Tampa sessions will be held at Highland Park Neighborhood Park near Westchase on select weekend dates in November.

Oh, my sweetness! World, meet baby Kai. Isn’t he adorable?? I met his sweet mama, Sandy, at a friend’s birthday party over the summer and she had recently had baby Kai. He was born two months early and so tiny! She later reached out for a newborn session and I’m so glad she did. We captured Kai’s perfect little details and his sweet parents who are so in love with him. Welcome to the world, Kai!

I am so thankful to call the beautiful mama of this family my friend. I first met Vicky when we taught at the same elementary school a few years ago. She is one of the most loving and compassionate people I’ve ever met. Her hugs are instant comfort. Her four children are so lucky to call her mom! We got together to capture some updated family photos before her oldest son left for medical school. Such an exciting time! Congratulations, Zach!

Over the summer, I met Katie and Justin at Pass-a-Grille beach for a mini session to capture their family. It was the weekend of Justin’s graduation from medical school and both sides of their families were together to celebrate. I am so glad Katie thought to schedule a photo session to document this exciting time! Congratulations, Justin!

James from Newborn to 1 Year

I was recently looking at a photo of David holding baby James in his hand from our newborn session with Tiffany McClure and I asked him, “do you think you could hold James like that now?” And an idea sparked… let’s recreate his newborn session now that he’s a big one year old! We got out my camera, the newborn basket, a few blankets, and the outfits we wore last year. It is so fun to compare the photos and see how much James has grown! He was 7 pounds at birth and now weighs 22 pounds. He was an exclusive milk baby for six months and now he eats anything and everything (grapes and pasta are his favorite!). He had a tiny head with dark, wispy hair and now he has a head full of thick, blonde hair. James used to stay in the same spot until someone moved him and now we’re chasing him all over the house! It’s been such a fun year and I’m so excited for all the fun to come with our TODDLER!
